Wagner Electric Company Receives the IEC National Award of Excellence in Electrical Construction – Industrial

Wagner Electric received the 2020 IEC National Award of Excellence for Industrial Consturction.in the $500,001 to $1,500,000 category. The project was the R.T. Vanderbilt Dryer project.

Wagner Electric provided material, labor, supervision and design assistance for a 5 story structure housing a new industrial spray dryer. This project included new distribution, motor control centers, PLC controls systems, rigid conduit installation and cable tray wiring.

Several innovative features included building an enclosed building adjacent to the new 5 story structure. This building housed a combination bending and threading station that Wagner Electric designed and a welding area to handle fabrication. The second feature is that this project was completed with 2 men. Due to a delay, time was available that allowed our 2 electricians to complete the project.

This award was Wagner Electric's 4th IEC National Award in the last 3 years and the 5th in the last 8 years.

Wagner Electric Receives an IEC Community Service Team Award

Wagner Electric received an IEC Community Service Team Award for their work in 2019 with the Miracle League of Louisville.

The Miracle League removes the barriers that keep children with mental and physical disabilities off the baseball field and lets them experience the joy of America’s favorite pastime. The main barrier for these children arises from natural grass fields used in conventional youth leagues and proper assistance.

This field has a special surface soft enough for children with “Brittle Bone Syndrome” to play on safely, and at the same time it’s strong enough to support children that need to use wheelchairs or a walker to get around.

Over 20,000 children with disabilities in Louisville and the surrounding area have been identified with a disability that would make them eligible to play baseball in a Miracle League program. The goal was to create a facility that would allow these children the opportunity to play baseball.

Wagner Electric designed the electrical requirements for the lighting, scoreboards PA system, security, playground and a future splash park. They also furnished ballpark lighting, security lighting and playground lighting. Included was the conduit infrastructure for sound and security, scoreboard fiber optics and scoreboard data.

Approximately 15 to 20 employees were engaged in the project.
